Distance Learning Center
Expanding Opportunities seeks to develop small rural Distance Learning Centers. These small centers would be on grid/solar/wind powered, satellite linked learning centers to provide small community centers for educational purposes including the establishment of a small community library for use by rural schools and community members, basic literacy classes, vocational courses, information distribution, internet access and post secondary education via university distance learning.
Expanding Opportunities has partnered with the Rabondo Community Project to establish the first learning center in Rabondo, Kenya.
The Rabondo Community Project has fitted a small room in the St. Timon High School as a start-up location for the Learning Center. A plot is available for the construction of a larger, more available center.
At this time, the Learning Center is in need of computers to begin training.
