SPECIAL APPEAL: Sponsor A Child

Scroll down for each child’s story.

KIPTOO

Kiptoo and Daisy are siblings who were found abandoned on the streets. At the time, Kiptoo was just 8 years old. On February 16, 2007, they were rescued and brought to the JWHS Expanding Opportunities Children’s Home, where they received shelter, food, clothing, medical care, education, and, most importantly, love.

While Expanding Opportunities worked tirelessly to trace their family, they were able to locate only a grandmother and an aunt. Although the children have begun to build relationships with them, neither relative is in a position to provide a stable, nurturing environment for Kiptoo and Daisy long-term.

Now 16 years old, Kiptoo is thriving both academically and athletically. He is an excellent student and a talented soccer player. In January 2025, he will be joining Junior High School. In Kenya, attending a boarding school is a common and highly respected option that offers a more rigorous and stimulating educational experience. For Kiptoo, this is an important next step in his growth, and it’s time for him to transition to a boarding school.

To make this possible, Kiptoo needs a committed sponsor to help cover his educational expenses for the next six years, at least until he graduates high school. This is a wonderful opportunity to make a lasting impact in the life of a bright, hardworking young man and build a meaningful relationship with a Kenyan child.

If a long-term commitment is not possible, please consider a one-time donation to support Kiptoo’s education. Any contribution will help ensure he has the resources he needs to succeed.

ZEINAB

Zeinab, Emmaculate, Jayden, and Ian are siblings who were found abandoned on the streets. At the time, Zeinab was 7 years old. On October 20, 2019, they were rescued and brought to JWHS, Expanding Opportunities’ Children’s Home, where they received shelter, food, clothing, medical care, education, and, most importantly, love.

Expanding Opportunities worked hard to find any family members, and they eventually located the children’s mother. While the children have spent some time with her, she is unable to provide a stable and nurturing home. The children will continue to visit their mother, and Expanding Opportunities will monitor these visits to ensure the children’s safety while allowing them time with their mother.

Zeinab is now 13 years old. She is a good student, but she needs encouragement to stay focused. In January 2025, she will be starting Junior High School. In Kenya, attending a boarding school is a respected option that provides a more challenging and enriching education. For Zeinab, this could be a crucial step, offering the support she needs while surrounding her with other motivated students. It’s time for her to transition to a boarding school.

To make this possible, Zeinab needs a dedicated sponsor to help cover her educational expenses for the next six years, until she graduates from high school. This is an incredible opportunity to make a lasting difference in the life of a bright young woman and build a meaningful connection with a Kenyan child.

If a long-term commitment isn’t feasible, please consider making a one-time donation to support Zeinab’s education. Any contribution will help provide the resources she needs to succeed.

DAISY

Daisy and Kiptoo are siblings. They were found abandoned on the streets. Daisy was 6 years old. The children were rescued and brought to JWHS, Expanding Opportunities’ Children’s Home, on February 16, 2007. Daisy is now 15 years old. She is a hard working, high spirited student and will be joining Grade 6 in January of 2025.

For Daisy, moving to a boarding school could be a crucial step, offering the support she needs to excel in her Class six exams and continue into Junior High School on a strong footing.

To make this possible, Daisy needs a committed sponsor to help cover her educational expenses for the next seven years, at least until she graduates high school. This is a wonderful opportunity to make a lasting impact in the life of a bright, hardworking young woman and build a meaningful relationship with a Kenyan child.

If a long-term commitment is not possible, please consider a one-time donation to support Daisy’s education. Any contribution will help ensure she has the resources she needs to succeed.

JAYDEN

Jayden, Ian, Zeinab, and Emmaculate are siblings who were found abandoned on the streets. At the time, Jayden was 5 years old.

The children will continue to visit their mother, and Expanding Opportunities will monitor these visits to ensure the children’s safety while allowing them time with their mother.

He is now 11 years old and entering Grade 4 in January, 2025.  He does well in class and is always among the top 5.

In Kenya, attending a boarding school even at a young age is a respected option that provides a more challenging and enriching education. Jayden is older than his fellow Grade Four students.  Moving to a boarding school could be a crucial step, either now or within the next few years. As his siblings need to transition to boarding school, his transition to boarding school would keep the siblings together, but he could remain at JWHS in public primary school a bit longer. The cost is approximately the same.

To make either option possible, Jayden would benefit from a committed sponsor to help cover his educational expenses for the next 9 years, until he graduates high school. This is a wonderful opportunity to make a lasting impact in the life of a bright, hardworking young man and build a meaningful relationship with a Kenyan child.

If a long-term commitment is not possible, please consider a one-time donation to support Jayden. Any contribution will help ensure he has the resources he needs to succeed.
